This is a small half moon battery located on the northern headland of the entrance to the Harbor at Ascension Island.  The battery is believed to have mounted two guns and has a small magazine.  It is not know at this time exactly when it was built, but it is estimated it was about 1825.

The parapet of the battery would now appear to be large oil drums covered with earth, indicating that it may have been used as a gun position by the US forces during WW2.
