This headland covers the eastern entrance to Plymouth Harbour and has layers of defence.    Principle components are Fort Bovisand, Staddon Point Battery and above this the Watch House Battery.  There is also six surviving search light positions.  On the ridge behind is Position Finding Station, Mine Observation Post and other observation positions.
